She graduated from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School and can truly be described, in the fullest sense of the word, as a comedienne.
She made her professional debut in 1991, under the direction of Armando Cortez, at Teatro Villaret. Since then, her career has steadily grown, with notable appearances in numerous television programmes, films, and theatre productions.
Her long and fruitful collaboration with Herman José has created characters unlike any previously performed in Portugal by a woman, among which Zé Manel Taxista is perhaps the most enduring. Throughout her career, she has received several awards and distinctions for her contribution to culture and the arts.
With a charismatic and intelligent stage presence, she is one of the most respected figures in the Portuguese artistic scene.
In 1999, she was awarded the rank of Officer of the Order of Merit by the President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio.
