Matthias Samuil

Matthias Samuil was born in Berlin and began his musical studies at the age of six. He graduated as a pianist from the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, where he studied with Annerose Schmidt and Hella Walter-Arndt, and participated in numerous international masterclasses with Murray Perahia, Leon Fleisher, Brigitte Engerer, and Graham Johnson.

Matthias has performed as a collaborative pianist with some of today’s leading opera singers, including Olga Peretyatko, Dmitry Korchak, Anna Samuil, Lena Belkina, Alfredo Daza, and Marina Prudenskaya.

As both soloist and accompanist, he has won several prizes in international competitions. In 2016, he was awarded Best Accompanying Pianist at the Triomphe de l’Art Competition in Brussels.

He has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Philharmonie de Berlin, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Casa da Música in Moscow, Berlin State Opera, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam.

Matthias has participated in numerous live broadcasts and CD recordings.

Since 2006, he has been a Professor at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin.
