Bearing its name from the Roman goddess of youth, the Juventus Ensemble (JuvE) is a chamber music project aimed at becoming a platform for creation and a catalyst for opportunities for young musicians of recognized talent.
Founded in 2022, the Juventus Ensemble had its debut concert in Bragan\u00e7a, at the Church of S\u00e3o Francisco, as part of the Bragan\u00e7a ClassicFest, featuring works by Eurico Carrapatoso and Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a chamber music ensemble of variable geometry, the Juventus Ensemble promotes concerts and artistic residencies in collaboration with world-renowned artists - such as Pascal Moragu\u00e8s and Stephan Picard - covering a repertoire from various eras and musical styles, with the aim of welcoming and showcasing the best emerging talents in the music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the young musicians who participated in the Juventus Ensemble concerts, notable names include violinists Amia Janicki, Xunyue Zhang, Filipe Fernandes, Alfonso Pinto-Ribeiro, M\u0103lina Ciobanu and Laura Handler, violists Francisco Louren\u00e7o, Sofia Silva Sousa, Jo\u00e3o \u00c1lvares Abreu e Gustavo Rebelo, cellists Geirthrudur Gudmundsdottir, Jo\u00e3o Pedro Gon\u00e7alves, Beatriz Raimundo and Pedro Gomes da Silva, double bassist Rui Pedro Rodrigues, harpsichordist Rafaela Salgado, oboist Lu\u00edsa Bandeira, clarinetist Jo\u00e3o Paiva, horn player Lu\u00eds Duarte Moreira, and flutist S\u00f3nia Pais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In February 2023, the Juventus Ensemble presented the world premiere of the Sextet \"Dreaming and Thinking\" by American composer Bruce Adolphe, as part of the Musical-Mente Cycle, at the Monastery of S\u00e3o Bento da Vit\u00f3ria, in Porto. Also in 2023, the Juventus Ensemble made its debut at the Capuchos Music Festival and performed two concerts at the Pr\u00e9mery Music Festival in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
