After brilliant studies in Geneva and Paris, under the guidance of eminent professors such as Thomas Friedli, Pascal Moragu\u00e8s, and Michel Arrignon, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Comte gained international recognition in several competitions held in Paris, Prague, and Munich, being awarded by the Meyer Foundation, the Banque Populaire Foundation, and the Acad\u00e9mie Charles Cros. It was this very Academy that later awarded him the Grand Prix du Disque 2017 for his recording of Johannes Brahms' Two Sonatas Op. 120 and Alban Berg's Four Pieces Op. 5, in collaboration with the renowned pianist Denis Pascal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He then embarked on a career dedicated to chamber music, which led him to perform worldwide, while also appearing with internationally renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and the Ensemble intercontemporain, of which he became a member at the age of 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following year, he performed Eclipse, for clarinet and ensemble, by Yan Maresz, at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, under the direction of Pierre Boulez. In 2009, he once again collaborated with the maestro, this time on the Clarinet Concerto by Elliott Carter, during a European tour in some of the most prestigious concert halls\u2014a piece he would later record with Matthias Pintscher and the Ensemble intercontemporain, for Alpha Classics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2010, he was entrusted with the demanding performance of Dialogue de l\u2019ombre double by Pierre Boulez, during a retrospective of the composer at the Louvre Auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the most significant moments of his career are the performances of: Unsuk Chin's Clarinet Concerto, under the direction of Matthias Pintscher, at the New World Center in Miami, and at the Tokyo Opera City Hall; as well as Miracle de la rose, by Hans Werner Henze, at the Cit\u00e9 de la Musique in Paris. In 2018, Philippe Hurel entrusted him with the world premiere of his Clarinet Concerto Quelques traces dans l\u2019air, performed at the Stadttheater Cottbus in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
