Lu\u00eds Vieira has been the Principal Horn of the Orquestra Sinf\u00f3nica Portuguesa since 2015. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout his career, he has been invited to join prestigious orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Orquesta Nacional de Espa\u00f1a, Orquestra Sinf\u00f3nica do Porto Casa da M\u00fasica, and Ensemble Divino Sospiro, performing under the direction of renowned conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Semyon Bychkov, Valery Gergiev, Herbert Blomstedt, Christian Thielemann, Gustavo Dudamel, Riccardo Chailly, and Andris Nelsons. With these orchestras, he has had the opportunity to perform in some of the world\u2019s most prestigious concert halls, such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Philharmonie de Paris, Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Royal Albert Hall (London), Tonhalle (Zurich), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his career, he has been invited to perform with prestigious orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Orquesta Nacional de Espa\u00f1a, Porto Symphony Orchestra Casa da M\u00fasica, and the Divino Sospiro Baroque Ensemble, under the direction of conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Semyon Bychkov, Valery Gergiev, Herbert Blomstedt, Christian Thielemann, Gustavo Dudamel, Riccardo Chailly, and Andris Nelsons. With these orchestras, he has performed in some of the world\u2019s most renowned concert halls, including the Berliner Philharmonie, Philharmonie de Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Royal Albert Hall (London), and Tonhalle Zurich, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He completed his Bachelor\u2019s degree in 2009 at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco, under the guidance of Paulo Guerreiro, and furthered his studies with Abel Pereira, Eric Terwilliger, and Sarah Willis. From 2011 to 2013, he attended the Escuela Superior de M\u00fasica Reina Sof\u00eda in Madrid, where he studied with Radovan Vlatkovi\u0107 and was awarded the Best Student of the Horn Chair by Queen Sofia of Spain. In 2015, he completed his Master\u2019s in Performance at the Z\u00fcrcher Hochschule der K\u00fcnste in Switzerland, also under the guidance of Radovan Vlatkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2011, he won the Pr\u00e9mio Jovens M\u00fasicos and in 2013 was a finalist in the Citt\u00e0 di Porcia International Music Competition <\/p>\n\n\n\n
