Hugo Assun\u00e7\u00e3o has been a Professor of Chamber Music at the Escola Superior de M\u00fasica de Lisboa since 2012, and has taught Trombone and Chamber Music masterclasses throughout Portugal and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has performed and recorded with various groups and orchestras, including: Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquestra Sinf\u00f3nica do Porto Casa da M\u00fasica, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra da Madeira, Orquestra do Algarve, Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa, Sinfonia Vars\u00f3via Orchestra, Hot Clube de Portugal Orchestra, Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra, and the Crossfade Ensemble led by Daniel Bernardes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He shares the Artistic Direction of the Grav\u00edssimo! Festival with Yamaha Artist S\u00e9rgio Carolino, and has collaborated, performed, and recorded with artists such as James Thompson, David Taylor, Marshall Gilkes, Gyorgy Gyivics\u00e1n, David Bruchez, Gabriel Ant\u00e3o, Ricardo Pereira, Jo\u00e3o Martinho, Ruben Tom\u00e9, Francisco Couto, Jacques Mauger, Bart van Lier, Justin Clark, Robin Eubanks, Luis Bonilla, Eijiro Nakagawa, Christian Jones, Demondrae Thurman, Matthew Murchison, Thomas R\u00fcedi, Anthony Caillet, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Escriva, Tormod Flaten, Fernando Deddos, Luka Einfalt, Gene Pokorny, Bob Stewart, Floyd Cooley, Henrique Costa, Anne-Jelle Visser, Oren Marshall, Ricardo Carvalhoso, Fran\u00e7ois Thuillier, Mike Forbes, Roland Szentp\u00e1li, Daniel Perantoni, Nimrod Ron, and Shimpei Tsugita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2006, he recorded \"Vox Gabrieli\", with music for trombone and piano, and \"A Different Era\", as Music Director of the Ensemble Portugu\u00eas de Trombones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has commissioned, premiered, and recorded works by Anne Victorino d\u2019Almeida, Telmo Marques, Daniel Bernardes, and Ant\u00f3nio Victorino d\u2019Almeida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
