German soprano Mandy Fredrich is acclaimed for her rich, warm, and vibrant voice, as well as for her captivating presence on some of the world\u2019s most prestigious opera stages and concert halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her international breakthrough came with her portrayal of the Queen of the Night in Mozart\u2019s The Magic Flute at the Salzburg Festival, under the direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Her remarkable career quickly led her to major opera houses across Europe and beyond, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Zurich and Tokyo Operas, Deutsche Oper Berlin, as well as the State Operas of Vienna, Munich, and Hamburg, and the Bregenz Festival. On these stages, she has performed many of the great lyric soprano roles, including Agathe in Der Freisch\u00fctz, Marguerite in Faust, Donna Anna, the Countess, Fiordiligi, Mica\u00ebla, Antonia, and Iphig\u00e9nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mandy Fredrich maintains a particularly close artistic relationship with the Berlin State Opera, where she has achieved great success\u2014for example, as Frau Fluth in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor<\/em> under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, and as Gutrune in the new production of Der Ring des Nibelungen<\/em> staged by Dmitri Tcherniakov, under the musical direction of Christian Thielemann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A highly versatile singer, she is also a regular presence in major international concert halls, where her repertoire includes large-scale oratorios by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, and Johannes Brahms, as well as Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No. 9<\/em> and orchestral songs by Richard Strauss. Notable performances include concerts under the direction of Zubin Mehta at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Symphony No. 9<\/em> and The Creation<\/em>), under Ivan Repu\u0161i\u0107 with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and under Sylvain Cambreling with the Hamburg Symphony, in works such as Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s Requiem<\/em>, Schumann\u2019s Das Paradies und die Peri<\/em>, The Creation<\/em>, and Symphony No. 9<\/em>. She has also appeared in gala concerts at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Other highlights include Schumann\u2019s Das Paradies und die Peri<\/em> at La Seine Musicale in Paris, where she received widespread acclaim, as well as Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/em> at the Auditorium de Lyon and Kioi Hall in Tokyo, where she thrilled audiences as Fiordiligi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mandy Fredrich also cultivates a deep passion for the Lied repertoire.
