Marina Cabello del Castillo is a Spanish viol player, currently based in Madrid after twelve years in Basel, Switzerland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Specializing in early music from the 16th to the 18th centuries, she has performed at many of Europe\u2019s most prestigious early music festivals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She began her studies in viola da gamba at the age of eight at the Conservatorio Padre Antonio Soler in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid, under Jordi Comellas, where she completed her musical training with distinction. In 2013, she continued her studies at the renowned Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland with Paolo Pandolfo, earning a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Viola da Gamba in 2016, a Master\u2019s in Pedagogy in 2018, and a Master\u2019s in Musical Performance in 2020. She also attended masterclasses with eminent viol players such as Jordi Savall, Vittorio Ghielmi, Wieland Kuijken, Marianne M\u00fcller, Guido Ballestracci, Rebeka Russ\u00f3, and Fahmi Alqhai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has been invited to participate in prestigious European festivals, including the Oude Muziek Utrecht, the Festival de Musique Baroque d\u2019Ambronay, the Festival Internacional de Arte Sacra, the Fundaci\u00f3n Juan March in Madrid, the Festtage Alte Musik and Freunde Alter Musik in Basel, the Rencontres Musicales de V\u00e9zelay, the Festival Internacional de Santander, the Quincena Musical de San Sebasti\u00e1n, the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, and the International H\u00e4ndel Festival G\u00f6ttingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
