Portuguese actress Rita Blanco was born in Oeiras. At the age of 18, she began dedicating herself to acting and, by 22, had completed professional training at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and the Conservat\u00f3rio Nacional. During this period, she made her film debut in 1983, appearing in \u201cLe Cercle des Passions\u201d by Claude D\u2019Anna and \u201cNingu\u00e9m Duas Vezes\u201d by Jorge Silva Melo. Two years later, she worked with the esteemed Portuguese filmmaker Manoel de Oliveira on \u201cLe Soulier de Satin.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1987, she began a long-term collaboration with director Jo\u00e3o Canijo, appearing in the film \u201cTr\u00eas Menos Eu\u201d, which earned her a selection for the \u201cLes Stars de Demain\u201d festival in Geneva, Switzerland. She continued to work with Canijo across film, theatre, and television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rita Blanco has also collaborated with other prominent directors such as Jo\u00e3o C\u00e9sar Monteiro, Jo\u00e3o Botelho, and Jo\u00e3o M\u00e1rio Grilo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her theatre debut also came in 1983 with \u201cMariana Espera Casamento\u201d, directed by Lu\u00eds Miguel Cintra. However, she became widely known to the public through television, particularly for her comic roles. Her television career began with humorist Herman Jos\u00e9, who invited her to appear in the RTP comedy series \u201cCasino Royal\u201d, followed by several other programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
