{"id":13823,"date":"2024-04-03T20:21:49","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T19:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/festivalcapuchos.com\/?p=13823"},"modified":"2025-04-10T17:04:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T16:04:06","slug":"director-artistico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lab.festivalcapuchos.com\/en\/director-artistico\/","title":{"rendered":"Artistic Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished Portuguese artists of recent decades, having achieved remarkable international recognition as a piano soloist, chamber musician, and artistic director.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A native of Porto, he graduated and earned his doctorate in 2000 from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he studied for five years under the guidance of the renowned pedagogue Lyudmila Roschina. Since then, he has pursued an intense and multifaceted career, performing in some of the most prestigious concert seasons and festivals across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Often referred to as the \"poet of the piano,\" he is known for his mastery in navigating a vast repertoire, adapting camaleonically to styles ranging from Baroque and Romanticism to contemporary music\u2014having been the dedicatee of works by several composers from both Portugal and abroad. His solo discography, which includes five CDs, showcases his artistic versatility and features works from Bach to Ravel, Beethoven to Mussorgsky, and Debussy to Prokofiev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a soloist, he has performed with the leading Portuguese orchestras as well as with major ensembles from various European and American countries. Passionate about chamber music, he has collaborated with many of today\u2019s most prominent performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A decisive milestone in his artistic journey was the founding, in 2006, of the DSCH \u2013 Shostakovich Ensemble, of which he is the artistic director. The ensemble\u2019s discography includes the world premiere recording of the complete chamber music for piano by Shostakovich, as well as Beethoven\u2019s Trios Op. 11 and 38 - both albums receiving high praise from the specialist press. It was also through the DSCH Ensemble that he launched, in Lisbon in 2015, the Ver\u00e3o Cl\u00e1ssico Festival, now considered one of the world\u2019s most relevant academies and platforms for musical excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His creativity as an artistic director and curator has led him to spearhead numerous projects over the past two decades. He is currently the artistic director of Bragan\u00e7a ClassicFest and curator of the Musical-Mente concert series at the Teatro Nacional S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o in Porto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A strong advocate for the promotion of new generations of musicians, he was a Piano Professor for a decade at various Portuguese universities, regularly conducts masterclasses, and founded the Juventus Ensemble in 2022, which brings together established musicians and emerging young talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious title of \"Steinway Artist\" by Steinway &amp; Sons, being the only Portuguese pianist to hold this distinction.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2021, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro is the artistic director of the Festival de M\u00fasica dos Capuchos.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro \u00e9 amplamente reconhecido como um dos mais destacados artistas portugueses das \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, tendo alcan\u00e7ado not\u00e1vel projec\u00e7\u00e3o internacional enquanto pianista solista, m\u00fasico de c\u00e2mara e director art\u00edstico.
